Who trains at Kenshin Dojo?

Our Dojo was started by Sensei Corella, who was a 4th Dan and began his Iaido training in 1983 in Himeji, Japan. He founded the Kenshin Dojo in Phoenix, Arizona in 1985.

Our Headmaster is Hajime Hayabuchi, and he’s the 16th Soke of the original line of Araki Muninsai Ryu Iaido.  Every year Soke comes to our Phoenix dojo to test students. He also makes appearances around the world to demonstrate Iaido and Kenbu (Japanese Sword Dancing).

We have students from all walks of life and age groups, from high school students through retirees. Some students come from different styles of Iaido or other martial arts, but some have no former training at all. Our open and friendly environment makes it easy for everyone to enjoy learning this ancient and time-honored art.
